I'm doing a scan to find my samsung sound bar on my NW A45 but it can't find anything.
It can't find my phone either. Phone and sound bar are both in pairing mode. The phone can find the sound bar ok.
Am I doing something wrong? Should i have headphones plugged in?
Hello @johnconstable,
I doubt you can connect to the smartphone, yet for the Soundbar it should work.
Did you perform the following steps to connect to the soundbar?
Click the "Toolbox" icon in the lower right corner -> select "Settings" -> Navigate to "Bluetooth" -> Select "Connect to/Add Audio Device" -> Toggle the Bluetooth-connection to "on" -> select "Add Device (Pairing)"
If your soundbar is in pairing mode, it should be detected by the player.

yes, tried several times. It says its searching but can't find any. The sound bar display says its in bluetooth pairing mode. My phone can find it but not the sony.
I'll try again with headphones plugged in but if they are needed that would be pretty rubbish - who wants to plug into headphones when they are using a bluetooth speaker!
Hello @johnconstable,
you definetly don't need the headphones being plugged in - otherwise I wouldn't have been able to pair either my BT headphones, nor my BT speaker at home.
Maybe the Samsung soundbar doesn't support certain Bluetooth Playback Qualities - have you tried to set it to "SBC" or "aptX" inside the players "Wireless Playback Quality"-settings?

I tried your suggestions and i also tried truning off NFC but no luck.
Yes those are the steps I followed.
I don't expect the phone and Sony to connect. I just mentioned it to demonstrate the sound bar is functioning ok.
