This is pleading post to anyone who can make a difference......
I've been using the amazing Sony MDR-ED21LP earphones as in-ear monitors for over 10 years and my last pair has just died.
I have tried countless other types/makes and nothing under about £300 comes close to the sound quality and the wearing comfort I am a musician and singer, and although some earbud types sound OK, they are awful for singing; because they are completely sealed it's like singing with your fingers in your ears.
If anyone knows of anywhere to get some of these earphones I would be eternally grateful.
Yours in desperation,
Andy

I just signed up to say the same thing - please bring these back! Used these nearly 20 years ago and have never found a similar pair since 😞
I bought 10 pairs about 8 years ago and my wife is on her last pair and she's desperate
as she runs every day and only these stay in, so Pleeease Sony bring them or at least
their Grooved shape back!!
Just to bump this request, also never found another earphone as good as this, comfort, base, general sound all excellent, you have to bring these back!!
I've just spent ages singing up so I can add my voice to the plea to bring back these fantastic earphones.
I cannot use anything else in my ear and since my last pair broke over a year ago, I've not listened to anything on my phone with earphones.
I'm was quite disappointed to see probably the best pair of earphones on the market discontinued.
I also want to find several new pairs of these headphones. been using them since 2004 i think, maybe longer, and just broke open my last set 😞
If anyone has a set with broken wires, it's not too hard to fix them and they sound just as good with different wires. I swapped mine to an iphone wire and later to an android wire to control the music on my phone.
Sony why cant you start re-producing these headphones. Lots of customers would buy them and i am sure you could sell them for more than your highest selling headphones and all of us who are crazy about these headphones would buy a dozen of them. Why not even do a limited run once every couple of years to those who sign up. They were quite simpley the best headphones ever made....the goat of headphones. If you dont listen to your customers then you are not he great company i remember growing up.
Please, please, please, please bring them back!
My last pair died today after over ten years of daily use. Like others I have spent lots of money on other headphones but nothing comes close to the sound quality and none ever fit my weird ears! Help us please Sony! Just launch them as a '90's Retro Range' or somethingm
Yes, I agree. Like everybody here says, please bring back the MDR-ED21LP earphones!!!
I would happily buy several new sets.
I completely agree with you guys, but I think you missed ONE BASIC ADVANTAGE of those phones that completely stands out against all other earphones/earbuds I have tried so far: when using them the sound is not at all affected by touching or funneling around with the cable! With other phones that completely plug the earchannel I have always experienced disturbing scratching noises just by walking, causing the cable to slightly swing back and forth. So I think this is besides the proper sound quality and the comfortable fit the one MAIN PRO of the ED-21LP and its predecessors.
Just a few days ago I found my pair that I bought probably back in 1999. They still work great except for a little crackling noise in the left phone when the volume is too high. After trying different types of earphones this one still feels the best!
Maybe Sony could not bring the whole product with its full technology (don't know how difficult that would be) but at least the UNIQUE shape of the phones that used to make so many users so happy???
I completely agree with all of the comments on this thread, the earphones are truly amazing, the bass can't be beaten for the price, and the comfort they had when wearing were superb, I hope they are listening and start selling them again, surely they want to make money, I would happily buy several of them!
