So I have a product that's faulty and sent to repair centre in uk ( srs x55 not charging so no longer portable)
repair centre replied we dont have the parts to fix it.
they said have refund or we can replace it with srs zr5 - zr5 is not portable! Not stereo! Not hi res audio! So not a like for like replacement.
i stated that I don't want a refund, please replace with another x55.
they stated we can't get one please look for another replacement by sony.
i looked on Sony.co.uk followed a link to a Sony centre and saw it was still available for purchase so informed as such.
They then said it's a franchise store we can't get one "internally" please look again
it turns out Sony have no stores in the real world or online!!!
Yet they mislead you into trying to find one! So they can't tell me what products they can offer as a replacement, but CAN offer an unsuitable replacement? Where do they get that from then? And what's the point of a 12 month warranty?
I am currently refusing a refund and requesting it be replaced as they accept it is faulty , this is my right according to the consumer rights act 2015
its disgusting to hide behind a franchise set up and still sell a product they can never repair if faulty.
shame on you Sony...and replace my freaking speaker because it's a great product when it works as it should!

I was offered a Sony h.ear go....again a woefully poor substitute. The h.ear go looks to be a replacement of the srsx33 which is half the size and half the sound of my x55. It seems as if they have no clue what my original product is or is capable of.
I am now so disappointed that I requested they send my unit back unrepaired. I now can't take my excellent sounding speaker away from a mains electricity supply... I.e. It is no longer portable.
Interestingly the unit was never opened up for examination.
I am seriously questioning why I have granted Sony any brand loyalty over the years.
