sony walkman NW-A45 bluetooth connectivity

I have an NW-A45 Walkman with bluetooth connectivity.

It will easily connect to various smart phones etc and to my Sony car radio.

However, my wife has bought a pair of bluetooth headphones, and these connect to everything we have but I cannot connect to the A45.

Looking deeper into the specs, the A45 is v4.2, but the headphones are v4.1.

 

Does anyone know if there is a compatibility issue here.

it would help if you could tell us which headphones your wife tries to pair.

Sorry, yes I should have identified the Headphones.

 

They are Zealot B19. I suspect these were purchased because of the built-in FM Radio, but that another issue.

Does this help at all.
