WF-1000XM3 Sound Skipping on latest firmware

Since updating to the latest firmware the connection keeps skipping, I’ve reset everything but the issues still persists. Using iPhone 11 Pro iOS 13.3.1 anyone else having the same issue?

Hi there,

It might be best to contact Sony support here.

Let us know how it goes.

Best wishes,

M

I’ve had the earphones replaced and the same is happening. Seems these earphones are dogged with problem with ios13, perhaps Sony should actually listen to customers concerns instead of just trying to brush it under the carpet. I’ll be taking mine back for a refund and get the Apple ones, at least I’ll know they’ll work.

Hi exeterwayne,

Have you tried using them with a different phone?

Cheers,

I’ve had exactly the same problem.  Seems to be worse in areas where there are lots of other people using Bluetooth devices (e.g. Victoria station concourse at rush hour!)  I took them back for a refund and now use Apple AirPod Pro - no connection problems there.  I’m pretty sure the problem was introduced by the recent firmware - I don’t remember it being a problem when I first bought them.  Shame as these headphones sound fantastic otherwise.

Hi Sony, I have the same problem with-1000XM3, firmware version 2.3.0

WF-1000XM3 + iPhone X - great connection

WF-1000XM3 + macbook pro 15 2017 - skips about 250ms every 30 seconds

WF-1000XM3 + macbook pro 16 2019 -skips about 250ms every 30 seconds

In the sony app sound is optimized for sound quality - how it should be!

I also have WH-1000XM3, which has a stable connection and works great everywhere

Update:

I am using magic trackpad 2 with my MacBook.

If I have both headphones and trackpad connected headphones start skipping.

If I connect trackpad via a lightning cable to MacBook, the trackpad will disconnect from Bluetooth and will be connected via the cable. Then the headphones connection is stable.
