WH-1000XM3 Connectivity and Cancelling

24 hours since setup and I'm disappointed in two ways.

I cannot pair with my Sony 43XD8305 TV to watch films at home and not disturb the family - one of the primary reasons I bought them. I know I should have read online first but I presumed that because my TV was only a couple of years old they would work. Does anyone know a workaround?

And the noise cancelling also seems to have deteriorated since I updated to the newest firmware update. Has anyone else noticed this?
