WH-1000XM3 Keep coming out of noise cancelling

I did the last update on my headphones and all seemed well, but when I'm listening at my gym in noise cancelling mode with music, it keeps popping out to ambient sound.  I keep having to press the button to go back to the wonderful noise cancelling mode.

I always do the NC analysis and it is in walking mode.  Keeps almost all sounds out.  Love it most of the time.
