I love my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones . The noise cancelling is excellant.
One issue that is starting to annoy me is the random drop out from noise cancelling mode jnto ambient sound.
I thought it may have been that i was touching the switches against the pillow/headrest , but this isnt the case.
Its clearly a software or hardware issue that needs to be fixed or ill have to send them back. At over £300 its not something i want to put up with!
Ive looked for a firmware update but doesnt seem to be available. Any thoughts?
Hello @Littlesoldier1,
have you checked that the "Adaptive sound control" is switched off?
If not, it can "think" you are e.g. moving which changes the mode automatically.
You can check the setting in the headphones connect app.

Thanks i will try that and give feedback.
Can you clarify what exctly the adaptive control is meant to do?
The drop out normally occurs when i am stationary ,however i still want the noise cancelling to work as there are varying levels of background noise.
Thanks again for the support

The adaptive control tries to work out what you are doing, stationary, walking, on transport so bases the ANR on that.
Its not perfect and sometimes gets confused. You should know if its changing mode though with a little "bong" in your ear, if that is not happening then this is probably not your issue.
