2015 KDL-50W756C (Picture mode bug) EU

I have reported the bug before in an other thread but it's not yet fixed in the latest update v3395.

Watch the video below to see that the picture mode setting is not permanend after standby.

The bug is 100% reproducable but you have to left the TV in standby for more than 4 hours.

In other words every morning I have to set the picture mode to my preferance.

THE BUG IS ONLY FOR THE FIRST OPENING AFTER NIGHT STANDBY

Same problem here.

I (and several other people) have reported the problem in at least two other threads, yet have had no acknowledgment of the problem from anybody 'official'.  This really should be added to the bug list.

This is a very silly problem for a TV to have.  Regardless of other problems a TV may have with more advanced features, is it really too much to ask that a TV can remember its picture settings?

@giorgosgs - if your issue is related to: https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/televisions/feb-2016-update-android-auto-picture-broken/td-p/2112055...  Then this has already been reported to Sony for them to fix.

Its also been added to the bugs list:

@alwhite - your issue is related to the colour profile?  Correct?

As seen in :

https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/televisions/bravia-43w805-android-tv-not-selecting-correct-colour-te...

And:

https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/televisions/problem-with-sony-w75c-tv/m-p/2159529

The original person who posted about colour profile stated that it was fixed after a factory reset?  Have you tried?  If not, can you?

Cheers

I can't speak for @giorgosgs, but I don't think he is referring to the Auto Picture mode problem.  That appears to be a seperate problem and is not related to the TV not retaining colour temperature settings per se, but rather the presets getting stuck on previous settings.

I don't use Auto Picture mode at all (not least because it doesn't appear to work), so I have it switched off.  However, I still get the problem with the TV not retaining colour settings.

Hi alwhite40

Gotcha, now im clear - two separate issues.

Did you do that factory reset according to these instructions:

Yes, same problem, or it certainly sounds the same.

I had the same problem on my first W805 (returned due to build quality and cosmetic issues) and on the replacement.  I have done multiple factory resets on both TVs, both before and after updating to the latest firmware.

I can work around the problem by doing any of the following when the problem exhibits itself after coming out of standby:

- Go back into standby, then come out of standby again.

- Select another picture preset, e.g. Cinema Home, then select my desired preset, i.e. Cinema Pro

- Select another input, e.g. Digital TV, then go back to the desired input, usually HDMI4.

- Select the Colour temperture option - if I recall correctly, the TV changes to the correct colour temperature as soon as I press select on the Colour temperature option

All these solve the problem for the duration of a day/night's viewing, but obviously it's not ideal having to do one of the above every time I switch the TV on.

I have tryied several times to explain the problem the last few months in the other threads...

I am really tired to check every few days in the forum to find a solution for this problem.... I like the way you discribe how a SMART TV can be a DUMP TV because of several liitle bugs...

This is a very silly problem for a TV to have.  Regardless of other problems a TV may have with more advanced features, is it really too much to ask that a TV can remember its picture settings?

I did the video above just to be sure everyone will understand what the problem really is.

I have followed all the resolutions other people recommended but nothing works..... hoping for Sony tech guys to fix this in the next update.
