Wifi connection issue

Wifi connection issue

I am wondering if anyone can help me. My wifi on my xperia xa ultra keeps disconnecting and won't reconnect. Sometimes after I restart the device it will work fine for a while then when I leave and come back it won't reconnect. (I live on a college campus with campus wide wifi) other times the phone jut won't connect to the wifi. I know it's not the router itself because my computer connects to it just fine.
I really want to fix this issue without having to buy another unit.

I hv the same problem, the upload speed is good and the download speed is only about 2 Mbps at best. I did try to forget the my network and turnoff the phone and restart the phone and reconnect to my network and the download speed only good for about 10 minutes ... Afterwards ...It goes down again to 2Mbps from 80 Mbps

got the same issues on 2 XA ultra's here too, wifi just stops working and have to disconnect and use mobile data to load the page. happens on multiple wifi networks.

also when doing a speed test on home network from a PC the connection just stops for a few seconds and then carries on again as if the signal is lost. performing the same test on a samsung phone in the same location works perfectly.

also bluetooth cuts out at random and phone hangs for a minute or so for no reason (eg other day i swiped to answer a call and the bar got half way and froze)

My Xperia XA worked fine until the last update 33.3.A.0.131 now every  time it goes into sleep mode I lose Wi-Fi calling even though "Keep connected to Wi-Fi in sleep mode" is enabled. I then have the same problem as others to re connect.

I have just changed service provider and the problem is on both Hub boxes.

The phone reports signal strength as "Excellent"

As we have no mobile phone signal here I rely on the WiFi calling to work.

Dear Sony,

Please tell me how you justify the nearly 6 month long issues with Wifi without a word? You clearly dont care. As fun as having to restart my phone 22 times a day is, i'd rather actually have a stable internet connection. Now, i know that this is a lot to ask in the year 2018, 24/7 internet on a connection you are already paying premium for; but would you believe your competitors manage it quite easily?

I get that problems occur, but this has been present FOR AGES! Version 7, version 8, makes no difference.

I had a Galaxy S4 for YEARS and it never stepped a foot out of line, words cannot describe how much i regret the day i said those 5 little words....."I'll try SONY this time...."

I have to actually choose between having my Fitbit connected, or turning the bluetooth off to get WiFi. Now its obvious you couldent care less, you would have actually pretended to make an effort if you did so lets just gloss over that, i have one simple question.

When  do you intend to actually fix this, so that the phone has basic functionality? I know, it was only a £300 phone so im asking a bit much for WiFI and Bluetooth to work side by side.

Kind Regards,

Someone who wishes they stuck with Samsung.

Spoke to sony loads about this, they told me the same things they are saying here, made me delete all my apps which are normal anyways, (Facebook, natwest, whatsapp) but still doesn't work, think it's just a dodgy phone they built.

Sorted my problem in the end after Sony "escalated" my problem which resulted in them never phoning me as they said they would!

Problem I found was due to Power Saving Mode. Either turn it off or leave phone on charger and see if the problem happens or not.

They issued a follow-up "Firmware upgrade" that fixed the problem.

Why could Sony not own up to a problem whilst they fixed it and save customers wasted time and frustration!

All the instructions you are getting are standard connection issue answers. The real reason you can't connect and it keeps dropping is because this phone absolutely horrible. I have had this issue from almost day one, was the same when I brought an LG. So the only way to fix it I think is to stop buying cheap phones. Which I don't use a phone enough to do this so I'm constantly using data. I turn my phone off and on, WiFi off and on clear credentials etc all the time. I shouldnt have to do this in 2018 but it's sony and they don't care I emailed about it and I got an email a few days later saying it was resolved. They don't want to know. On a side note my xbox one is waaaay faster then my ps4, its a slow dog.
