Any help would be greatly appreciated, i bought a C905 which was 3 branded and locked to the network. I paid 3 £15 to get my handset unlocked, they told me this charge was because they had to pay sony ericsson for the unlock codes. My handset is now unlocked and i have an O2 sim card in it, I can make and receive calls but the actual 3network logo is still on the main menu page, and many of the setttings are still 3network settings. I havve phoned O2 and they messaged me settings which i accepted and installed. I can make and receive calls and send texts, but not text messages with attachements and i can't access the internet. Can i sync the phone to O2, i have repeated called their customer support and they just resend the same settings, (five times now), and tell me to take the battery out and put it back in, i've now done this about a dozen times but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance. Carla Munro
If i hit the factory restore button would i only be restoring ALL the 3network settings or would i be restoring the C905?
Your phone may be unlocked from the 3 network but it's still 3-branded.In order to debrand your phone and re-flash it with the generic software you would need to use a tool such as Omnius. However, beware that doing this will void the manufacturer's warranty.
thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question, i've spend hours on the phone to both three and O2 and hours scouring the internet. Is Omnius software / freeware, i'm not worried about the warrantee, i just want to get my handset working. I was going to try and take it into the O2 shop to see if they could be of any more help than customer support (waste of time). Will this Omnius cost money and if so roughly how much? Again, thank you so much for you time, I really appreciate it, this is the first time I've used a forum, I never expected that someone would get back to me, never mind so quickly, thank you. I am going to check out Omnius on the internet, thank you again.
No worries. Some of the Omnius features are free but what you pay depends on the phone and what you want to do with it.Hope you get it sorted.
