Can't change default gallery app in KitKat 4.4.4

Hi Guys,

I'm either going crazy or Sony removed the option to change the default gallery app with the .167 update. Would anyone be able to let me know if it's the same on their phone? The stock Album app is really bad so I was using QuickPic before the update. Now I can't access QuickPic from the Camera app

Clear default for the camera or simply reset app preferences.

I've tried that but unfortunately when I go to Gallery via Camera app it still takes me straight to stock Album. I also tried to clear defaults for Album unfortunately with no luck. If I remeber correctly there was an option to set default gallery app via Camer app or when going to gallery via Camera App I was prompted to choose default app.

I really dislike it now as the stock Album app is not very good in comparison to QuickPic:(

Can you try settings-apps-all,tap on 3 dots and select reset app preferences?

That doesn't work. I was also using QuickPc before since the sony default app always blurs a second while the picture is loading. Its really sad Sony is forcing their inferior app on us.

you also cannot disable the sony album app. they are definitely forcing us to use their app on purpose

I'm in the same boat as you guys. I also prefer quickpic over album. Album's pinch to zoom is garbage especially after the 4.4.4 update. There used to be an option to set a default gallery app within the camera and now it's gone. Why does Sony remove options with updates? That's the biggest pro with Android is the customization. If you don't like an app, you can download a different one and set it as the default. Shame on Sony. Their software team is going downhill. It really has me concerned about android L on this device now.
