Hi,
Appologies if this has already come up, i tried searching, but came up with nothing.
when i move my pictures to my laptop occasionally (around 1 in a 100) my pictures will have a file size of 680mb. i have to edit the picture in in paint then resave it to make it a correct size.
any ideas why, or anyone have a solution
TIA
Well, to be honest, many people complained about picture size taken by Xperia Z - I mean that the compression was too big.
However I didn't know that Sony made the pictures THAT bigger
Now the quality should really improve
they are called moving pictures or movies for short
Sounds really weird. And you are sure they actually are pictures and not video files? What file extension does they have?

Sorry for the delay getting back, ive been waiting for it to happen again so i can show you a screenshot from my pc.
they are definitely not videos and the quality is no better to other pictures taken at the same time that are a couple of MB, the only difference is the filesize.
Has anyone else had this problem, or have any ideas how to fix it. i take hundreds of photos a month and didnt even notice this had happened until my 500GB HDD filled and my pictures folder was over 350GB in size
something is difinately wrong here. even if a picture is uncompressed tiff, it would never reach this size.
how long have you been using this phone? have u done any update recently?
the only think I can think of is that your camera software could be corupted. I've taken hundreds of photos on my Z but the size never get pas 2MB. I think you will need to repair your Android OS.
backup your stuff first. Move all your important stuf to the external SD or your PC. Then connect your phone to the PC and use PC Companion to update or repair your phone.
I don't understand what I'm looking at
if I select multiple picture files on my PC and look at the properties it will show a cumulative total for all files - forgive me if I'm wrong here but in your screen shot I can clearly see you have at least 2x files selected to the left and as we cannot see any more of the screen i.e the whole screen I'm puzzled
this was the filesize of only one picture that i moused over. the one selected to the left is a regular size the one moused over is not selected. here is a full sceen shot witht he picture selected and the filesize displayed at the bottom
Ive had the phone since it was launched in the uk, but i dont know if it has been a problem from the start as i haddnt even noticed until my hard drive filled.
I updated the software when it was released a couple of months ago
i dont really want to wipe my phone, but if no-one has any other ideas i will try it.
that second picture shows nothing and it is nothing like the first one - what on earth are you trying to do
maybe I'm stupid but you need to do better
sounds like a troll
