Hi, whenever I plug my W595 in to charge I get a warning message saying: "Serious error. Stop Charging. Stop using phone and contact Sony Ericsson Support Center". Can anyone help me?
I used to own a W395 and the exact same thing happened when I plugged it into the MDS-70 SE stereo system, which also charges the phone. I then took the battery out as this was the only way to get rid of the message, re-inserted the battery and the phone never gave me that message again and worked fine with the MDS-70 thereafter.
I came to the conclusion that this occured due to an accidental cross-wiring of the contacts making the phone "think" that two of its contacts had fused together, which indeed would be a serious problem! However, if this occurs every time you plug it in, I would suggest you check your charger for bent/broken contacts and also the phone's contacts for any dirt that may cause cross-wiring.In any case, it is unlikely that your phone is damaged and more likely that you need another charger. Hope this was useful and that your problem is now sorted.
there was problem with my set too! i updated the software! and it never happened again!
I have the same warning message, I've tried updating the phone via the update programme, but cannot get past the the "connect screen" I must have held the "c" button down for fifteen minutes but could not get ant further. I've tried different computers and ended up with the same result. I've tried different phone chargers (all Sony Ericsson), I've tried updating the phone using the Internet link on the phone and the phone displays that the phone is up-to-date. Am I going wrong somewhere? I've looked on the Internet for other users with the same problem and it appears I/we are not alone, the consensus saying that the only way to rectify it was to take it back to the suppliers and exchange it under warranty.
Have you tried phone repair via PC suite and/or a master reset?
Thank you I solved the issue by updating my software through an internet programme
Thanks. I've now updated it as you suggested and it's fixed.:smileyhappy:
