home button and some area of the touch screen is not working

I recently had a software upgrade into KITKAT, now I encountered some problem on my xperia phone like some areas in the touchscreen is not working.  Homescreen button (area) is also not woking.. What could be the better solution to this, I trust the brand but this problem seems the problem also of other xperia z user.  I am dissapointed.

I attached two images that clearly explained what I am saying.  Here I use the SKETCH APP, you will notice that there is a white area which indicates that the touchscreen is not working on that particular area of the screen

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I suggest that you to run your phone in safe mode for a while to check if you still experience this. If not this may be caused by any downloaded application.
How to boot into safe mode?

If not caused by any downloaded app, I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..

Dear johan i have the same prblem did the same things frist tried the safemode the tried repairing the softwere and nothing is working. i have only one question why is sony making this kind of cheap quality phones i am usning sony from 2008 and now i am determined to switch brand i am so much dissapointed

I am having a similar issue, my Z1 keeps glitching as though the home button is being pressed over and over again, it's infuriating! I've rebooted on safe mode and it still is doing it, I have reset to factory settings and still keeps doing it, I'm also getting choose keyboard and then bottom of screen unresponsive. I have searched for a solution, and came across your post. Phone still under contract so I think I will be contacting provider to replace or fix it if possible.
