Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Sorry to hear about your phone.

A mobile phone contains electronics which is very sensitive to water. If you expose the phone to water it may get damaged and it may not be possible to repair this type of damage. This type of damage is not covered by our warranty but i recommend that you contact your local support team to see if they can assist you in any way.

Thanks for your reply. i had contacted the service center people they were saying to replace/Repair the mother board which may cost Rs. 7,000. I want to know that mother board costs that much?? New mobile is coming for Rs. 10,000 now. Can i get it repaired under Rs. 2,000. Please help me in this i like the phone alot so i dont want to keep the phone side.

The motherboard is one of the more expensive parts of the phone and there's also a cost in replacing it.
I'm unable to get you any discount on repairs. You need to contact your local Sony Xperia support to see if they can do that.

I'm very sorry to hear that.

I'm afraid that's not possible for me to say but i doubt the service location would give you that information if it was not the case.

Depending on what's wrong with it, it may not be possible to repair the phone or the cost of repairing it could exceed the cost of a new phone.

I recommend that you contact your local support team to see how they can assist you in this case.

I had got the sony mobile only two years back. I was careful all the while not to wet it or drop it. Suddenly yesterday, it had switched off and wouldn't switch on again. I took it to a local sony service centre and they said the motherboard is dead and they would replace it for 8000. I don't come from a very rich family so don't give me advices like 'get it replaced for 8000' or 'buy a new phone'. Just let me know if it is possible to get it done under 2000 or should I just abstain from buying any other sony product any time in future and also save my friends of this whole trouble.

PS  mine is the SONY XPERIA M c1904

@arx

Try to update your device using PC Companion.

First I suggest doing a backup of your device information: How to backup?

@keerthi100

Have you try to take the device battery off and after some minutes insert it again on your phone?

Also if that doesn´t work, can you obtain another battery from another XPERIA M user to test if device switch on again once you replace it?

Best Regards.

I bought new Sony Xperia M C1904 in Feb 2014 and now last week on 17th October 2015, it went dead suddenly while playing music on phone. I took it to a local repairer shop and he says the motherboard has gone faulty. I dont understand why the shelf life of Sony Xperia phones are so small that they get dead within 18 months. I would never opt for Sony Xepria phones.
