Well I bought a used xperia mini pro locked to t mobile uk, hoping to get it unlocked. At first it would display the simlock code screen when turned on with or without (another network) sim. I pointlessly entered a few random codes, but the service menu still shows 7 attempts left. Now however it wont ever display the code screen at all and always says no service/no sim card or similar everywhere. Most functions work such as wifi, but it always forgets the time/date. I tried reinstalling the firmware with the update service on pc, that just failed for no apparent reason. Is there any way to restore except perhaps taking it to a repair place?
