Problem with installing PC companion from Xperia Z1 to my PC

I am facing problems in installing PC companion from my Z1 to the Pc. When I try to browse through windows explorere I see the startme file but clicking on it serves no purpose it is unresponsive. Can anyone please advice me on the issue. I have windows 7 ultimate os on my pc.I am able to view and browse the internal storage and sd card though. Also iI tyied downloading PC companion from the net but again when I try to download Media Go it says not connected to the internet though I am able to open other websites. Please advice.

First of all make sure that PC Companion is allowed in your firewall. You can also try to disable your antivirus while downloading Media Go.

Otherwise it would be good if you could try to download the program using another Internet connection.
