I got my Xperia J as my first Sony smartphone last November. It has been a good little phone until now, every time I go to open my photo album it says "no items in your collection" for both my internal storage and SD card. I tried unmounting the SD card and re mounting but it made no difference. Also plugged it into my PC this morning and the files showed up on my PC and my phone, but as soon as I un plugged my phone they disappeared again. My phone is plugged into my PC again now but the files arent showing up on the phone OR the PC. I'm worried I've lost everything and I don't know what to do to get my files back. Pleeeease help, not impressed with Sony for this at all.
I don't have any knowledge on this as I am a teenage customer, and have never dealt with this before. Thanks so much if you can help me!
Try settings-apps-all-media storage, clear data and restart the phone.
@alexdon but will this delete all my pictures? i don't want to lose everything
No,it will only reset the media storage and will rescan for all the files you have. However,do save your most important files before this.
ok thankyou, i'll try it π
Sure,take your time.
I had this problem a few weeks ago, and I fixed it by pretty much re-installing the latest update which was a pain. It's happened again and I don't know why. I cleared the storage data and that hasn't helped. Any more suggestions?
Try restarting the phone with the card inside.
That hasn't worked for me either.
Install ES file explorer and in it select refresh--> system refresh..now u can see all ur images and songs in album and walkman
