I got my Xperia J as my first Sony smartphone last November. It has been a good little phone until now, every time I go to open my photo album it says "no items in your collection" for both my internal storage and SD card. I tried unmounting the SD card and re mounting but it made no difference. Also plugged it into my PC this morning and the files showed up on my PC and my phone, but as soon as I un plugged my phone they disappeared again. My phone is plugged into my PC again now but the files arent showing up on the phone OR the PC. I'm worried I've lost everything and I don't know what to do to get my files back. Pleeeease help, not impressed with Sony for this at all.
I don't have any knowledge on this as I am a teenage customer, and have never dealt with this before. Thanks so much if you can help me!
What card are you using? Is it formatted to fat32?
Downloading the file manager has made my card contents show up as it should. Thanks!
Hello there. Sorry for bringing this thread from the dead but I have the same problem. My device is Xperia J.
My gallery won't show any photos, Walkman player says there is no mysuc to play and I also can't play videos. I can see, though, the files are there with a file manager. I can also play music with Rocket player so I am sure the files are there. I found 2 files named "nomedia" and deleted them. I rebooted the smartphone at least a dozen times. Nothing works. I also downloaded ES file manager but can't find the option for System refresh. There's just a button "refresh" in the middle and I am not even sure it does anything when touched. Please help. Thank you.
EDIT: Everything went back to normal. I didn't have to restart the device again - the music, photos and videos just suddenly appeared. Probably the app needed a couple of minutes to refresh everything.
