Team, please check it out, i am using Sony Tipo (2months old), it seems that i have a proximity sensor problem.

when i make a call the Screen is fully up and doesnt go off for more than 10mins, and when i remove from my ear the promixity has to show the lighted up screen, bit it doesnt.

but note, i have kept the Screen Display sleep only for 30Secs.

i have installed the Sony Phone testing app, in that app when i checked for proximity sensor testing it was working fine.

please try to sort out my problem.

1- Restart your phone and test it.

2- Make sure that proximity sensor is not covered under sebum, scratches or dust. Clean the screen.

3- Update your phone software to latest by connecting it to PC companion.

my current Software version/build number is 11.0.A.0.16

Phone mode - ST21i

kernel version - 3.0.8-perf user@PC2-desktop#1.

also, i cleaned the screen and proximity sensor from duct.

now tell me how to proceed.

Your phone software is old. Update it to latest. Install PC companion in your computer and update it through there. Updating will fix several bugs, also optimize battery consumption and fix severe issue with Power Saver application.
