I read that recently as well...

and I am absolutely disappointed about this handset... I wrote a long post earlier but the message got lost so I won't type it again but summarizing:

- No Fingerprint in the US

- No 4K recording

- No Eyelet for straps

- No alternative mode of charging

- No Small Apps

- No FM Radio

- Small Battery

- Big size for its display

I really wanted to like this device and even after my Z3 Compact cracked and stop working, I was looking forward to getting this device... but it is just stupid to sell something like that at such high price and not offer a true Flagship instead...

I would rather buy another Z3 Compact than this, but I won't either.

Note: I was a true Sony fan with the Xperia line, but recently has disappointed to new levels.

No fingerprint sensor for the US, AGAIN!

Expensive handset, yet still lacking features such as those... Also, I don't get why Sony is selling these phones at such a high price, when they are still being made in China (same as everybody else, except Korean phone).

Why is Sony letting down the US consumers so hard? First off, USA always gets the phones later than everybody else. I feel the Sony brand is loosing too much ground, and its partly their fault.

Dissapointed.

Note: Owned a Z1, Z2 and currently using a Z5. Possibly switching brands.

Well since you've had so many sony phones and are on here already ,you have a huge advantage over a newbie.
You can scout these forums for any new models,their shortcomings and problems before you buy.
I've got a Z3,still using it, and I'm giving sony a miss for a few years again.
Strange that other companies move forward,but sony stays stagnant or goes backwards.
My view is because they are such a big company,with music,tvs medical etc etc they can afford to run certain sections as they see fit.Profit or not is irrelevant.

I had all XPERIA Z phones.

XPERIA Z3 Compact quality is the worst of all Compacts. With touch unstick by itself on the latest series, this phone is not good. I saw so many XPERIA Z3 Compact this year with unstick touch. I did not have any issue like many people in my region that bought this phone when it came out at first. Now this phone has issue. This year everyone bought XPERIA Z3 because they thought it is better phone than XPERIA Z5 Compact and the price is low. Better go for XPERIA Z5 Compact if you don't like XPERIA X Performance.

My opinion is that XPERIA X Performance is good Sony phone. Only if the battery is larger it would be the best Sony phone. Except the battery I have no other real complaints. Better screen (although it is smaller), better camera (I don't miss 4K video recording), better sound, no heating (only when using camera longer), the best UI I saw on Sony phones (so fast with no lag at all), bild qiality is better, fingerprint sensor is fast and works all time. This is compare to XPERIA Z5 that I had before this one.
