Is it normal for this to happen? Will it be gone or will increase with more usage? Will it affect the phone's performance? Should I ask for replacement? I would prefer it to be repaired as I think it is the glue that is spreading. If I am to get a replacement I would prefer it to be of silver colour only.
Get it replaced at the Service centre, since it is the most sensitive part of the phone, i would suggest you to use a cover like i am using, this will prevent undue pressure on this strip area and reduce any furtehr chances of damage

I brought brown one for my silver .
Yes,aayush is right. You should take it to a sony centre, where they can manage your phone correctly.I also bought a cover, just for the backside and covering the margins, and a screen protector foil.
Are you sure that I should get it replaced? It is very minor and barely visible with naked eye. The image I have taken is with a 12 Megapixel Digital Camera. That too it is not visible in plain sight. It has to been seen from a certain viewing angle or in low light condition for it to be seen. Will the service centre guy recognize this as a fault?
It can get worse in coming days !!
got the same issue, though the touch functionality of the strip is not affected, it's aesthetically bad. bought mine to a sony service center here in the philippines and it has been covered by the warranty. though i'm still waiting for the spare part which will be coming to singapore. i recommend you bring it to the service center too. just a tip to make it more visible, have it seen the tech rep with a dark background ( a black card / or putting it on a dark colored table). 😃
What's wrong with it anyway? Can't see where the problem is
Is it the some kind of liquid inside the transparent bar near the back button that isn't as black as those near the home button?
is it cracked? or is it water? either or you should replace it, remember that the antenna is there
worse case from this thread...
If it's going this way,you should take it to a repair centre.
