Hi,
I have successfully upgrated my XPeria Go to Jelly Bean and I'm facing a big problem with phone calls :
After dialling and pressing "call", the phone is completely frozen ! It remains frozen from several seconds to about 1 minute !! During this time I have no information about the call setup progress. The call can be established, and the celled party can talk "alone" : I'm not able to know when the call is established and to hear him speaking !!! Then, my phone is no more usable !!!!
I don't know if anyone has already experienced this problem ...
Best regards.
Hi all,
Couldn't wait for any answer from Sony team. So I downgraded my phone back to IceCream Sandwich 4.0.4. Using Flashtool and an official firmware (6.1.1.B.1.54), following this tutorial (in french) :
And you know what ?!!? My Xperia Go has become a real phone : I can initiate and receive phone calls, like with a basic mobile phone !!!!
Sony, may the force be with you for your next release !!!!
This problem is unacceptable. I as well am experiencing this.
When receiving calls: I slide the green answer button to the right and it just 'hangs' there without answering the call. The phone keeps vibrating untill the caller hangs up (this can take up to 30 seconds, my provider limit). When the caller tries again it sometimes works but mostly people are unable to call me.
When I make a call: The phone does not display any awknoledgement of pressing the call button. After about 10 seconds (sometimes longer) it suddenly shows up the call timer and I hear an impatient "Hello? Hello?" on the other side. If I attempted pressing the call button more than once, everything starts acting funny (calls/hangs up randomly).
I'm tired of explaining people I'm having trouble with my phone. Rebooting or resetting does nothing to solve this. Please Sony, patch this!
I don't know.
This sounds alarming.
But in my case, I haven't really experienced this.
I am running on official JB, not rooted with locked BL.
Do you guys experience this ALL the time? or is it just 1 out of 2 or 3 or 5 or 10?
Please share.
No, it's not 100% erroneous. Just like the ICS lag, this occurs very frequently but not ALL the time. I don't see a pattern in it really. Answering calls is more of a problem compared to making them. I'd roughly say 90% of incoming calls fail, 60% of outgoing calls fail. All calls (in & out) do have a delay though, even if they don't fail.
I uninstalled Viber to see if it makes any difference. The problem is that I can't reset to factory defaults because I can't make Titanium backups (root needed!). PCC doesn't create thorough backups. Mine is official JB, not rooted, locked BL as well.
eljunpacomios, are you saying you're experiencing no call lag whatsoever? That's interesting... Do you have any caller applications installed (Contacts+, Go Dialer, Skype, Viber, etc.) or do you use an alternative launcher (Nova, Atom, Go, etc.)? How many apps do you have installed approximately?
I do not have any 3rd party call apps bro Timmmmaaahh.
5 minutes ago, I received a call, everything was fine. No lag, whatsoever.
During the call, there was an incoming call from another person, and there
were no issues. After ending the first call, I picked up the waiting call and
nothing bad happened. No lags, no hangs.
The call was smooth.
It could be a regional release issue. Something with the country or carrier.
I am not sure. Let's try to check. It would greatly help if we see it this time.
Probably.

Countries and Carrier with Bad/Problematic Call after JB update
Thanks for the reply. I like using call replacement apps for the costumizablility (used Contacts+ for a while). I've now removed all replacement apps, just using stock. The problem remains though. How many apps do you think you've installed? Maybe there's another app interfering. If I had root I could freeze my apps one by one, isolating the call-killer. Maybe it's just Sony to blame. For now, let's do that
Good idea on the mapping, here ya go:

The last days the problem has become worse. When somebody calls, the phone starts vibrating without ringtone. The ringtone comes after about 10 seconds, which is unacceptable. When I answer the phone before I hear the ringtone, I don't hear anything.
I am very dissappointed of Sony because they even haven't answered in this thread and recognize that this is a serious problem. Maybe we all should bring our phones back to the shop and claim our money back...unless they give us a patch that solves this ASAP!
It seems that deleting cached data from most apps helps. I just went through my apps list and deleted the cache from Facebook, Instagram, Gmail and the webbrowser. There where hundreds of MB cached in these apps on my phone. I also deleted some other stored data from these apps. After that I had to reboot my phone to see an effect.
If this really helps, it's anyway a temporary fix since you will have to delete the cache from these appss regularly since the cache will fill up again when using the apps. A patch to fix this will still be neccesary.
