Can anyone please inform us whether the new X series are equipped with the same IMX300 sensor from the Z5 series or the newer IMX318 sensor? We've long known that it was the IMX300 but some sources and reviews claim it is the IMX318? Can people inspect their phones with hardware info apps and enlighten us what they see as the camera sensor name? Thanks!
Same as in the Z5 series, only difference is that the X series has an updated camera software!
That's what I knew initially as well. But I couldn't find a source which explicitly states that it is IMX300 (or a screenshot showing that name or anything). I've been arguing with a friend of mine who insists it's not IMX300 but IMX318. I need a solid proof
It´s not IMX318, the Z5 and X series uses the IMX300!
It has been confirmed but i don´t remember where i read that.
The IMX318 has OIS for video but no Xperia phone has OIS..

I belive the IMX318 could be used in future Xperia phones..
actually your right i dont know why sony have not used that camera in x series yet
virids your half right steadyshot is unbeatable in videos but not for stills and to get best results for stills OIS or sonys EIS is needed
