Hi everyone,
Lately, I have been bugged with the above mentioned issue. Occasionally, my phone will restart itself for no apparent reason. It occurs in quite a random manner. The only thing that i did lately to the phone is to upgrade the firmware to R2BA020. At first I thought the installation was not done correctly so I repaired it using PC Companion but still the matter persists. Have anyone faced similar issue or know how to solve it as its becoming rather irritating.
Regards
Justin
No,you are not :smileysad:... unfortunately they still claim it's not common.. I wander how many people out there think the restart loop problem is just a firmware bug.
I sent mine to SE support since a week. 1st they thought it was a SW problem and just reinstalled it, then after testing they realised it's still not fixed and it's been there since then. Dont know if they have a clue about this heating thing, maybe I should call and inform them about it. This is really bad!!
does anybody know if just changing the battery will solve the issue or not, everything here seems related to the battery itself and the pins connected to it.
Okie,, So I went to SE and explained my problem. They said they will need a day to look into that and then on the next day they said its just the software problem and reinstalled it. I checked it there (not thoroughly though) and satifsified that it did not restart and came home. After that; I started configuring everything and then the restart loops came. I carefully did a lot of trial and error and then finally removed all of google account settings from Manage Applications. Just cleared all of the data related to Google. It did not restart for hours. Confused; i checked again by registering google acount details and yes it restarted in loops now. I removed the settings again and using it now for about a day. I am not really sure why google account settings has to do anything with this. I am using moxier and configured gmail in the normal mobile email that comes with SE. Anyone can think of a logic behind this? I can consistently reproduce this behavior now.
EDIT: Forget it. It seems any extensive operation restarts it. I was just browsing a big site now and it restarted. I dont feel any heat at the back side though. I hope SE finds a fix soon enough . I am going to service center again in sometime.
i ca't see how it can be a software problem, they just didn't want to say "we don't know".. but lets play along,, what software version do you have? do you have any burn smell inside the device ?
Yeah. I went to service center again and gave them this. They were also puzzled and said that they need to give it to some center higher-in-level. These guys are like franchisee. Not from SE directly. I told them; dont waste trying with Software as it did not work. Lets see. The version i have is latest patch. Exactly dont know.. But something like 206 in the end? I am actually not sure; whether i missed the 'getting hot' earlier .I cant smell anything. Temperature of battery is always around 31-35 degree celsius; its not getting too hot now. But still it restarts:smileysad:
I believe you are from Singapore. I strongly suggest you bring your device into the Service Centre at either Wisma Atria or East Point Shopping Centre. The one at East Point usually far less crowded than the one at Orchard Road.
However, the technicians working in the SE service Centre at Wisma Atria, seems to be a better lot. The wait time is extremely long, and they usually will not be able to give you back the phone on the same day.
Now, the thing to do is try to get them to replace the whole set for you instead of having them dissect your new phone.
I am from India. Yeah; I know it takes a hell lot of time. They said minimum 15 days for me. But i have to confim with them today whether they are sending it for further investigation to SE or whether they found the problem themselves and fixed it.
I've just took back my X10 from SE. They've replaced the main board of my X10, everything is back to normal now.
Just want to do a statistic.... to see any common between us...
- Usually, I will plug the USB cord into my X10 for charging when I am working in office (very often)
- I've a clear plastic cover for my X10.
- The software installed in my X10...
- JuiceDefender
- Handcent SMS
- Linda Manager
- Dolphin browser
- KKbox
- Bookmarks to SD
- Skyfire
- Realcalc
I do the first one all the time. It will be connected to USB in system when I am in office;
I do have the same pouch they gave with X10.
I did not ahve any of the apps you have; But i have my own set there
IMDB Movies
Almost all Google apps; Orkut, Buzz, Goggles, Translate etc.,
Rock Player
Barcode Scanner
Battery Meter
And i was adding removing many things to try some apps. So these were the only ones that stayed for long.
