Hi everyone, hope there's someone out there who can help me out.
I'm having issues upgrading the Xperia X8 to android 2.1 in both PC Companion and the Update Software. I've tried them both in Safe mode with networking and that doesn't work either.
The software update application fails to recognise the device and PC companion always says that it has failed to download the update and to "try again alter".
Nothing seems to work for me. I've even reset the phone to factory settings.
Any tips/help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Me also faced same problem later i tried in windows 7 and succesfully installed 2.1
download update service from following link
then install it to windows 7 and try
Just gave it a go in Windows 7 and all I get is an error saying:
"Failed To Detect Product
The product could not be identified.
Please disconnect it and try again."
I have no idea why it won't work. I've tried it on two different PC's and it's always the same result
Any other ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Hola,
just tried so many attempts and finally succeed.Happen to be using xp3 serv pack 3
Don't try pc companion.Try upgrade via SONY ERICSSON update service - follow the instruction accordingly (exactly )
Off your phone wait for 30sec and while connecting press the back key and connect into mini usb ( phone ) and u will see a diagnose bar stating that checking software
and release the back key after the instruction said so.a pop menu will appear mentioned that the functions of software updates and press ok and on screen instruction to follow.
I've tried this stupid pc companion and not working at all.Not required to use in safe mode. All u need is fine internet connection to download software size of approx 130mb and install.
Just try and see.
I am succesfully updated the android software - approx time 5mins only.
