I've had issues in the past with this phone and always been able to fix it with help here. Now I'm stuck.
My Z1 6903 (I believe) shows I have a new text message. My mother sent me some photo last week, it might have been in a group text I'm not sure, which I deleted immediately. This is my work phone. Well, I've still got the new message icon (#1) which won't go away.
I tried putting hangouts back on the phone, switched text to it, saw no message, switched it back, and took hangouts back off. Still there.
I cannot delete over two years of text messages from customers with photos of invoices and model numbers for warranty along with the dates of the texts from the phone. Each text is a physical proof of when I was last there, and I need instant access to it in the field.
I need another option. This is my business phone. I could probably deal with the icon saying I've got a new message. I shouldn't have to in my opinion, but I could make do. The problem is that whenever I get an actual text now, I get no notification sound or vibration at all. Because probably it only does so on the first new message that comes in...Which it thinks I have already. Which I don't.
I shouldn't have this issue. There's got to be a way around this obvious flaw. If I have to clear all my texts, even if I could save them elsewhere and put them back on after its fixed, would the dates they were sent and received still be there visible to me? If not, I'd have a LOT of work copying them and I guess taking pics of them and saving them as the photo of their name in contacts. I HAVE thought this through. But then I'd probably just buy a new phone, it would NOT be anything by Sony who let this happen and I guess doesn't care enough to anticipate that I dunno maybe a phone is a tool for a business and not a toy.
There should be a solution. If I can't resolve this, I'll get damages in a suit. I cannot check my phone for new texts every hour. Because currently that's the only way I know I have a new one.
Help appreciated, because this is unfathomable.
