I am on my second Z3+ Dual since 8-2015. None of the softboot techniques work; charge for 24hrs, Power+volume, etc., PC companion doesnt see them. Neither were ever wet. Both times it was the same thing... worked fine with plenty of battery, set it down, go to pick it up and DEAD/BRICKED whatever you want to call it.
Is there a serious known issue with these phones?
Have you repaired the phone with PCC?

PC Companion doesnt see the phone for repair.
neither does my PC for that matter.
In that case you will have to contact your Local support, I wonder if they gave you the same device, double check the IMEI numbers.
Definately not... purchased one in the USA and one in Saudi Arabia. Still have BOTH
Got it, well you will have to contact either Sony USA or Sony S.A., keep in mind that the warranty its only good in the country the phone was purchased.
