Audio adjustments not doing anything

 I can't seem to be able to make audio adjustments such as the Equalizer and ClearAudio+ work. They appear to be adjusted - I can move the switches and the sliders, but they do not have any impact to what I am listening to and the sound remains the same no matter what I select. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

So is there anything in writing saying that eenhancements only work with the stock player? If there is, I missed it. If it's not, it should be there because it's misleading at this point

once again, the sound enhancements don't work ONLY with the stock player. an app needs to use stock equalizer and audio engine instead of using its own. for example, I use Spotify and Shuttle+ Music Player on a regular basis and the sound effects work fine with both. other apps use their own equalizers or other audio solutions, and they don't apply stock audio enhancements.

I understand. I just want to know if this is in writing anywhere. From what I read, nothing indicated that only certain apps affect change..

So is it in writing anywhere? Or is Sony being misleading? Or is the information in here just speculation?

Why would it be in writing that it's up to app developers to implement audio features?

It's like blaming a TV company that a standard bluray doesn't use 4k.

The option and possibility is there with the audio, but some developers just choose a generic audio profile.

Why? Exactly for this reason. So that people don't buy it expecting these advertised features to work across the board.

If they said something like "only available on certain apps" that would be sufficient. As it stands now, their website and other materials do not say anything like that. 

They brag about how wonderful the sound is and the S-FORCE Front Surround speakers and everything else. But they should also add that these only work on a limited number of apps. 

Instead Sony is taking mine back for warranty repair that will be a complete waste of time if the information in here is true
