Google Smart Lock does not work.

Google Smart Lock does not work.
I have rebooted myself when I connected xz2c to my PC.
Google Smart Lock does not work after that.

There is nothing on the Smart Lock settings screen.

Same here, I thought it's due to dismissing smart lock feature during first setup, and now I cannot enable it for any bluetooth device/location. Smart lock (google) is enabled as a trust agent for me.

People have been complaining from XZ1 days but Sony has not taken notice yet....

Evidently, this is not a solution to the problem: it's a workaround, since the problem reoccurs frequently. There seems to be a correlation between a reboot and this problem: a reboot should be done only after disabling Smart Lock (Google) as a trust agent. Then after the reboot it must be re-enabled. You guys wanna laugh? I complained with Sony. After sometime the "customer care" agent referred me to the Greek support team, because he was from the UK and I am in Holland. I complained to him that the Greek site is completely in Greek, which I don't speak. His anser: use Google Translate. Later, I discovered the Dutch support team. There support didn't go any further then: I am sorry you feel disappointed about us. We suggest you do a software repair (which basically is the same as a factory reset). the suggestion is of course nothing but a way to get rid of the client, since many users have this problem. Sony should offer a real software repair: Repair your faulty software instead of insulting your customers with fake customer care.

The Smart Lock feature may not be available in every market, country or region. Keep in mind that Smart Lock as a security feature is less secure than a pattern, PIN, or password. and as you are contacting the UK support we are not aware of the feature is available within Netherlands or not however your feedback has been taken into cosideration of course to get the issue sorted if it is a common issue

And I'd recommend you to double check with Netherlands support regarding is the feature is available in your market or not

What's more: I can't access may Sony Mobile account. First it said it was locked and I need to reset my password. After I did that, it said: (in Dutch): "currently unavailable, Please try again later".

I have found this to be only a temporary fix at least for my xz2 compact. HOWEVER, I just got a software update from Sony today ,(9/14/18) and smart Lock trusted places were showing . They weren't before. Fingers crossed. They weren't before. Could it be fixed?

This is just a very temporary fix. Within a matter of hours they smart Lock trusted places will disappear again
