What is not working correctly with the charging port? Is it not possible to keep the cable in place so the device stops charging at times? I just want to make sure that you are not sending the device in to service if there is something that I can assist you with.

In that case, having the device examined by a trained technician is the correct way to move forward, as this is clearly related to the hardware.
I would recommend that you get in touch with your Local support team and they will assist you with having the device sent in to an authorized service centre.

Sony will replace the charging port. they did on mine, however my microphone doesn't work properly now. make sure you back up 10 times becase if you havent already updated to android 9 then when you do it will not back up. This is my problem as they want to service the phone again to fix the microphone however I can not back up and they will reset.
