Problem bluetooth pairing
Hi,
I've had Bluetooth connection and playback problems since updating to Orio [android 8.0]. My XZ Premium keeps dropping the connection, and not connecting properly playing music properly]. It also doe when playing music on my Bose Soundlink mini II, as well as my Plantronics BackBeat pros!

Hi @Barrywrobinson, I am sorry to hear about this.
Does the same issue happen in safe mode?

Haven't tried it in safe mode, but I haven't installed any new applications prior to or since updating to Orio. Also the volume control now only works erratically. I'm able to turn the volume down using the physical volume control on the handset, but not up. I can turn the volume both up and down from the UI without any problems and from a speaker or Bluetooth headset. I'll try this out in safe mode and get back to you but don't think it's an app unless there's been some kind of radical overhaul in the API's being used that's messing with Google's own apps!

Same for me. Phone connects to the Soundlink, but drops the connection when I try to play anything. Same thing happens in the car.

It's probably worth trying in safe mode anyway, as some of the applications you have might have strange interactions with Android 8, that they did not have on 7.
If you are still experiencing the same problems in safe mode then I recommend you reinstall the update by performing a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Similar problem here since installing Orio, ZX Premium struggles to connect to into car Bluetooth, I've had to mess around with pairing and unpairing the device several times to get it to connect.
I will give turning the WiFi off to see if it makes a difference.
Haven't tried "Safe mode" however as I'm trying to pair it for using built in calling function wouldn't expect this to be an issue with another app.

I still recommend you try it in safe mode as third party apps may still interfere with the same processes used by the calling app.
If it is the same in safe mode, try a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Hi
Tried safe mode, didn't solve the problem. Tried software repair, still no joy. Looks like it's a fault with the update.

there has been some information in this forum on fixing bluetooth issues.
Try this...
Before doing anything unpair all devices then reboot....then go to Settings > System > Developer options > Networking > Bluetooth AVRCP Version > try 1.4, or 1.5 and re-pair and see if that helps.

Hi StanleyKubrick
Thanks for this, but I can't find that option in Settings>System. Is it hidden to prevent people like from mucking it all up?
Also, I can't help thinking I should not have to be a developer to get my phone to work properly!
