Hey everyone! The purpose of this thread is to ask anything that you wish to know about the XZ Premium; other users owning an Xperia XZ Premium and forum staff will do our best to reply!  

As an example, prior to purchasing an Xperia XZ Premium you may be wondering if someone has tried out a specific third party app or feature on their XZ Premium, and could tell you a bit more about the compatibility and functionality as the app may important in your daily life. Staff and other users can come in and reply and let you know how it works!

Having purchased my XZ Premium (G8142 model) online, I'm curious about the Oreo update roll out. I'm using the phone in Canada where no carriers sell the phone, so will I need to manually install the Oreo update, or will it get pushed out another way to my phone? I guess I'm more curious if my phone will still fall under another region or will I need to wait until it is rolled out to the Canadian/North American model?

It's not about purchase or origin country, it's about a specific character of your mobile/tablet called "customization version". You can check this version by dialing the code *#*#7378423#*#* the tap on "Software info", if you want me to check if this specific customization version has the update released or not I can help you with that.

That's a Customized HK (Hong Kong) dual-SIM variant, so whenever the update is released in HK you'll find the update notification popping on your phone.

Updates are released gradually and timing will differ between markets. Unless there is an official statement from Sony, the exact timing of update to your market will not be available here or anywhere else. Keep checking periodically on Xperia Companion.

It's gone however can be downloaded from 3 party websites, which will allow you to download and sideload the apk's.
