Since updating to Oreo I've lost manual control over do not disturb.

I can tap the do not disturb icon, but it goes straight to total silence with no time limit. How do I choose priority only or alarms only? How do I specify a duration, or until an alarm? This hard to be so simple before updating to Android 8.0. It's I have to set automatic rules every time I want to enable do not disturb!!

I have discovered that when I pull down the notification bar twice, to reveal the additional items, my do not disturb (as well as WiFi and Bluetooth) now have drop down arrows, which allow me to set it manually. I just don't get why I know how to pull down twice, then click the down arrow, all to bring up the menu that always came up automatically before! It is slow and laborious. Why make things harder Sony??

I could be wrong but I do not think this is a Sony issue....although they may be able to adjust how it works....I think this is an Oreo issue. You think this is confusing....I am just starting to get a grip on how notifications work in Oreo. Nothing ever gets easier...all they do is make changes for change sake and then make it harder to figure out how to do the same thing all over again.

Can I ask if you can still set the duration ... even from the second pull-down menu.
After the last security update c.Dec/Jan I cannot seem to set a do not disturb time duration. I have a blank screen with a more options button. The more options allows me to use the defined rules ... however, I can not see that any will let me set a simple 'do not disturb for an hour from now' rule.
Has the simple - do not disturb for an hour actually disappeared?

Thanks.

It has not disappeared.

Pull down twice from top and press the down-arrow on the DoNotDisturb-icon.

Turn on and you'll have the usual setting for 1 hour (or user defined) for ever, until next alarm, priority calls only, etc.
