Hi all, love the phone.
Having some trouble with the Videos and pictures.
Use Album, select the video I want and get, "Cannot open".
Some Recent pictures are showing as black in the Album. All recent pictures cannot be Edited or opened by apps like Instagram etc. I can email them.
Tried to open the on laptop via cable with no success.
Any thoughts?

@Net_fisher2 open Camera, then tap the cogwheel icon > More > Data storage > SD card.
I don't know much about SD cards, but you could insert it into another phone to see if you get a similar problem.
That's kind of strange to be honest. The only time I face issues in my Sony Album is when my memory is almost full.
If your memory isn't full then I suggest you pop down to the nearest Sony shop (or perhaps the place you purchased the phone from) and see if they can offer you a fix that doesn't involve a factory reset.
I'd say back up your data but I'm not sure if your phone will allow you to do so.
All the best man.
@Net_fisher2 were the pictures taken by the phone? are they stored on the SD card or internal storage?
Yes, taken on phone and stored in sd card.
Did some more yesterday, can view videos straight after. But when go back to get the "Cannot open file". Pictures also are doing similar. Some can be seen as thumbnails but try to edit them and get "Cannot load file"
@Net_fisher2 what if you set Camera app to save pictures and videos directly to internal storage? perhaps it's a corrupt SD card's fault.
That seems to be the way. Tried some and are working now. Just to try and confirm route cause how do I set it back to write to the sd card.
Could not find how to set it to write to internal storage so found the eject sd card. How to get it write back to sd card?
Any way of checking the card?
@Net_fisher2 open Camera, then tap the cogwheel icon > More > Data storage > SD card.

Yes.
I can turn the problem on and off by selecting sd card.
Thank you. :smileysmileywink:
