Hello
I have a problem I didn’t find any solution on the internet. When I click a web link in the email app, a small windows opens with the browser content. Is there a possibility to disable this function and instead open the standard browser? Thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Beat
@Dendrobates Have you somehow set a different default app for opening links?
You can go to settings - apps - cogwheel and under opening links, check for the app. As I see it, some apps support opening links directly.
Dear alexdon
Thanks for your reply. The standard email app isn't listed. I think, it has to be be a setting from sony because i've never seen such a behavior in a native android and it was from the begining.
Kind regards

I can't replicate this, my links through email open in chrome.
Maybe clear default apps and open a link, does it ask which browser to use?
Dear viridis
I cleared all the apps settings and set the standard browser app to assistant but nothing changed. Still thi this small browser window with almost zero functionality.
Kind regards

@Dendrobates I think this is an integration for some apps. Did you try opening a link in gmail or facebook app?
Dear Alexdon
I tried to open links in Gmail, K-9Mail and TypeApp. And it was always the same small window. I think it's the os that triggers that behaviour.
Kind regards

Did you find a solution -i have same problem with my Sony Z5.
Dear Claus_D
Unfortunately I didn’t find a solution. I think the only way is to root the phone and put a native android on it.
Kind regards

Hi @Dendrobates,
I understand that this can be an inconvenience. Based on you description I'm afraid that it doesn't sound like a feature that I'm familiar with though. Any chance you could post a screenshot of what it looks like?
