Hello,

I have difficulty moving my media, photos, videos, from the internal storage to the SD card.

The photos and videos taken with the phone are already set to be saved automatically on the card, I'm talking about photos and videos that I receive from people via sms, WhatsApp, etc.

In the Album, when you highlight a photo or video, there used to be an option to move media to the card, but is now gone.

Also, when I go to settings, storage, and transfer to SD card, the options for transferring photos, videos, are there, but blank, like there's nothing found to be transferred.

I've got plenty of storage free on the card, so I really don't understand what's wrong.

I've ejected and mounted back the card, all media that's already on the card plays perfectly on the phone. Any suggestions will be really appreciated.

@Ciumegul the option to set default storage depends on the app. some apps allow you to save data to the SD card, and some don't.

I'm also fairly sure that the "Transfer to SD card" option in settings only applies to some folders, like camera photos and recorded videos. it won't transfer files used by other apps (say, Whatsapp), because the apps that don't support setting SD card as default storage would then not be able to access the transferred files.

Thanks for the reply, but it was working on my Z3 and on my XZ, is just this new XZ Premium refuses to do it.

Now the option from the album is gone, and in the settings is like the phone can't see the media saved in the internal storage to transfer it.

Even if I set the phone camera to save in internal storage, I take some photos or videos, if I go to the storage setting and transfer to card to free space, it shows 0 photos or videos that can be transferred, so I'm pretty sure is a software problem with the phone.

Also,any reason the option to copy or move to the card in the xperia album is gone?

I usually move photos and stuff once a while using File Commander... Its the only way i guess.

How do/did you set the default save for photos to the SD card? The only way that I can see to get the photos onto the SD card is to manually transfer them later which, in my experience, is not ideal. What I would like to do is to have the photos I take to automatically save to the SD card - is that possible?
