Bluetooth problem (battery drain)

Hello,

i have two problems with bluetooth on my Z5 (E6633, 7.1.1).

It came back from service 2 weeks ago (they say, it got replaced screen, motherboard and whole bodycover - but imo it's different phone).

Im tried of factory reseting the phone for the 5th time in 1 month...

1. Second after unlocking phone, BT icon apears on top bar. It disappear right after 2-3 seconds and dont show again, till next turn off screen (screenshot 1).

 2. In battery statistics, bluetooth is around 90%. Ofcoruse it's OFF (screenshot 2 & 3). As seen on screenshots i takes my whole battery power (computed power use  83591 mah !!!! compared to 475 mah of screen or phonecalls use). Sometimes it drains it very fast, sometimes it doesnt affect battery at all.

can you enable Developers Options

  1. Settings » About Phone
  2. Tap "Build Number" Seven times

Then in Developers Options, near the bottom of the Main Settings menu, near About Phone,

  • Enable Bluetooth HCI Snoop Log
  • Take a screenshot of Running Services, Bluetooth Share

Toggle Bluetooth On and Off, and try and pair or send/receive a file.

Then restart the phone.

In File Commander, on the Device storage, in the Root directory, there should be a file called "btsnoop_hci.log"

Open it as a text file, and near the end of the file, should be a bunch of garble, but also some readable text of the devices your phone has paired or communicated with.

Try and identify if there are devices you do not recognise

There's also a few more places to look at

  • Location Settings

  • Google Account Settings

Test the device in Safe Mode and also Single SIM and No SIM.

  • Safe Mode: Hold Power, then Press and Hold Restart Button until Safe Mode Dialog appears
