gmail setup fails

in my xperia z1c,after lollipop upgrade I can't access my email through 'Email' app but i can access my it from 'Gmail' app...please help!

Try booting on safe mode and check if you can access the email.

How to boot on safe mode on Lolipop
1. press and hold the power key
2. once you get the pop up menu 
3. press and hold "power off" 
4. Boot on safe mode should become available


Also if it's not an app compatibility issue then you can try to reinstall Lollipop with Sony PC Companion.

Welcome to the community,

You could try removing the email account from the Email application, once done simply add the account again.

Make sure you only remove it from the Email app and not the Gmail app.

Menu > Email > Menu Button > Settings > Choose account > Scroll to bottom > Choose delete.
