Headphones not working

Hi,

So I've got the PlayStation Pulse wireless stereo headset. I plug it into my new Z3+ and it doesn't pick it up, the sound just keeps going out the Z3+ speakers. I turn my pulse headset OFF, and then the sound goes through the headset. Why doesn't it work with the headset ON, so I can use the headset features like BassImpact and the equaliser presets?

I also tried plugging the USB dongle with the OTG cable into the phone but that didn't work either. There is currently no way I can enjoy music through my headphones with the headset ON.

Not sure about the "Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0" but it certainly doesn't work with the PULSE Wireless Stereo Headset switched on.

Hope this gets fixed ASAP.

Okay, tried it with a different wire and appears to work now. Looks like the problem may be related to TRRS jacks: http://www.cablechick.com.au/blog/understanding-trrs-and-audio-jacks/

The PULSE Wireless Stereo Headset comes with a TRRS jack but tried it with another wire with TRS jacks and works fine. Not sure why it would only work with the headset ON though even though it worked when it was OFF.

Very strange.

It's a compatibility issue.

Glad to hear that.

This has been an issue with some Nokia, Sony and Sony Ericsson phones for many years now.  It was certainly a problem on my old Experia Arc S.  Some headset makers (like Jabra) supply an adaptor cable (a short cable which changes the pin arrangement) for use with Nokia and Sony phones, and I'd suggest you look for such an adaptor cable.

HI, I recently(less than a week)bought an Xperia Z5 Premium Dual phone in Saudi Arabia and while using the headphone supplied with the phone, I found that the headphone gets disconneted to either of the ends and I need to move the headphone connector to get the audio on the both the earpiece.I was very disappointed with this problem faced on a brand new mobile phone. I have given the phone for repair to theSony agency in Saudi Arabia. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Can Sony reply to this problem?

@Ruggles

You are referring to the OMTP to CTIA standards/adapter
