How to change file names?

Hi there!

I have a Sony XPERIA Z - bought it less than a month ago, and I'm still studying it, how to use and manage it.

I love all of Sony's products, but unless I'm wrong, I see a serious flaw, that my former W715i didn't have - I cannot change file names!!! I tried every option in the menu, but I simply cannot find such. I tried to change the name of a photo from an application, which saves every modified photo as lastsketch.jpg, after what every new modified photo gets the previous deleted. I found a solution to my problem while attaching the phone to the computer via the usb cable, and changing the file name through the computer, but still, can I do it via the phone itself?

Use a File Manager such as OI File Manager, Astro, Root Explorer, etc. which app is that? check under settings it, the app, should give you more options on how to save files
