i dont got a chargerate of 0.9 or 1 amps whatever i try, what cable i try, shortest cable is 15 cm...
charger is 2 amps samsung, but that one is worse then the orgininal sony charger
I will give it a try and let the phone die coming days and recharge again.
But i think that suggestion will also be busted....
From may up to now i never seen a good solution and sony only telling rubbish
Sure it's some charger problem linked to the battery stats
i let the phone die and it's recharging again
same time i found this topic, which is same as this topic
/t5/Xperia-Z2/Z2-charging-problem-and-sound-issue/td-p/1027410/page/2
well this whole story resetting of battery stats is also busted
it doesnt help
discharged the phone to 0. Then i couldnt charge the phone, need to hard reset it, left it overnight, still not charging next day. Again hard reset, the phone makes again buzz, and then i could charge it to max 92% after the famous flashing starts again.
There is no solution, just downgrade to Kitkat, and never buy Sony again. Service is zero
There seems to be some confusion about the solutions we have all found for the dreaded Sony bug .Yes it does exist and it impacts the charging and possibly some other features too. Not everyone is impacted or some people simply accept the problem and do not complain, but with the hundreds on this forum do not fear, it is Sony, not you.
The problem appears on almost every device from the Sony Z phone and Tablet all the way to the Sony 4. We have seen no bug reports for the new version of Sony, being the 5 release.
Once your phone would charge on any charger with any cable. And it worked up until Android version 4.4.4. The previous bugs were in Android 4.4.2 but Sony fixed those. This bug they have not fixed.
These are the solutions.
1. Use guides in the forum to install (Downgrade to) Andriod 4.4.4. on your phone. There is no software to downgrade if you have the Sony Z tablet. You are stuck with the bug
2. You can still charge if you have the following 1. High cacity charger and 2. High capacity cable. You may find yourself working your way through cables but here is a hint. If a USB cable works for a USB hard drive, it will probably work on your phone. Also, the stock cable that came with your phone will work.
The Chargers. Sony stock chargers are low capacity and may not charge your phone. You can buy other chargers that are higher capacity. I found the best one was the USB charging ports in the AC power board. You can install sofware for free called AIDA 64 to see what your phone is charging (or discharging) at. If you live in Australia the COLES USB chargers and the COLES power boards with USB charger ports built in, both work fine. The Coles USB Cables also work fine. (for non Aussies, Coles is a supermarket chain).
You will always have more success charging your phone or tablet turned off than turned on.
Factory reset does not work
Running your phone flat until it shuts off does not work.
Nothing you do other than downgrade andriod or upgrade your chargers and cables makes any difference.
Sony has not to date admitted there is a problem. We have surmised that the Google Andriod software does not address the unique sony hardware properly leading to problems with charge capacity, and battery level. Sometimes your battery may be fully charged but only say 88% for instance. The only way to tell is measure the up time and even then it is hard to tell. If you previously had AIDA 64 you can compare measurements.
Summary of solutions:
1. WAIT to see if Sony will address the issue.
2. WAIT to see if Google will address the issue for Sony.
3. Downgrade to 4.4.4
4. Change cables and chargers to ones that show a positive recharge (AIDA 64).
No more to add to this thread. We have been through it all many times. I know it is unfair. You may decide to no longer use Sony and if you are like me you simply send their advertisements to the recycle bin now instead of wowing the latest versions of Xperia anything. All we can really do is wait and see what happens. Most of us found work arounds not solutions. For phones, downgrading is a very real options. For tablets.. there are no images for downgrading.
So ignore what Sony support tell you. They deliberatly lie to us all and expect to get away with it. The only power we have is the power of our money. Stop buying Sony and they may get the message that we will only purchase from honest companies that promote quality and good support.

Sorry but that is not the cure. Stamina mode simply reduces battery discharge and turns off things like WIFI etc when not in use or sending data in packets rather than constantly. When charging, this means that the phone or tablet will be in CHARGE more than it is in DISCHARGE but you really need to install EIDA 64 to see what your figures are. You will still charge your phone or device with low numbers, it will just take all day and all night. To get a good charge you need to be around 500mv CHARGE Constantly. I am wondering of some people can post their charge results with 4.4.4. running instead of version 5 ? Esp with the stock sony charger. I am curious to what the results are compared to how they stack up with 5.x Andoid.
Also, some devices seem to be not affected, some seriously and some only slightly. I used to encounter this problem when working in IT and rolling out DEL computers for SOE. I would order the exact same model computer but each batch was a little different and reqired different drivers so they were not SOE. In fact I had 12 images at one stage depending on what batch and I needed an xcel spread sheet to know what image to push to what computer. If Sony does the same, then there could be dozens of variations of their hardware in the same model devices. This would explain the variance. Something we discussed on here earlier. Perhaps Sony has created so many for some reason it lost track or is not prepared to put the man power and released Andriod 5 too early or perhaps they have no way of identifying what phone has what hardware so they simply cross their fingers.. I have no idea. Not being a sony dev tech I cannot answer this question.
Brett.
Well I experience the same bug since the most recent upgrade.
It is not the first issue I am having with my Xperia phone (broken glass for no reason, pixel errors, bugs, NOT waterproof...). Sony is dead for me. I intended to buy a Playstation this year, but I will stay with my PC. I spent a lot of money on that phone, and it was totally not worth it. And to all that: Where is the support from Sony?
Well, to sum it up in a few words:
Bye bye
i didnt have that broken glass problem up to now, but a few years ago it was on local tele here.
Sony denied everything i remember... users fault ...letting drop the phone etc etc
users shouldn't play heavy games which heated up the phone too much bla bla bla
purchasing this phone was one of biggest mistakes i made, should have stay at Samsung
I have been following this thread for a while and have finally found a solution, which I haven't seen mentioned here yet. I have the Xperia Z1 C6906. On 4.4.4 this bug never existed, once I upgraded to 5.0.2 it started happening. So obviously the problem is software, not hardware like many of you (and Sony) seem to think it is. Cables, chargers, etc are irrelevant, they are all the same. So without further ado, the problem is Sony's docking mode when you connect the magnetic charging port. When you plug in your phone via the magnetic port it rotates the screen, puts in some stupid format, and sometimes quits the app you were in (Sony what were you thinking?). That is the problem. When I was on 4.4.4 I had an Xposed module for my rooted Xperia that disabled the stupid docking mode, that was awesome. When I upgraded to 5.0.2 there wasn't immediately a root method available, so I had to wait a while to root my device again and I had to deal with a 75% charged phone all the time. Then I finally was able to root 5.02 (YAY!), and the first thing I did was install Xposed and the module for disabling the dock mode. Go figure, once I disabled the docking mode my phone started charging to 100%. So there you have it folks, the solution. All you need to do is root, install Xposed, and install the disable dock mode apk. Why wouldn't you have root already anyway?
SONY, YOUR USELESS MAGNETIC DOCK MODE IS CAUSING THIS CHARGING BUG, FIX IT OR REMOVE IT. Guarantee they won't do anything like usual!
Replace "(dot)" with a "." since apparently Sony doesn't allow links either, of course.
Here is what is used to root 5.0.2, may work on 5.1.1: adf(dot)ly/1PZtvF
Here is the link to the XDA thread about disabling the dock mode: adf(dot)ly/1PZsrZ
Here is a direct download link for the lollipop disable dock mode apk (need root & Xposed): adf(dot)ly/1PZsyz
Hope I was able to help someone/everyone, since Sony can't help anyone!
