I had problem with mic - people couldn't hear me, because my voice was very quiet. Then I switched off mic noise suppression and everything was fine. Until update to 6.0.1. Now I have the same problem. And I can't switch off mic noise suppression, because this option is simply missed.
Any ideas how to fix this now? Or I should downgrade to previous android version?
UPD: may,19. Sony market topic as solved. But it isn't really solved at the moment. They will roll out an update in "upcoming weeks". And because we still have the same problem, I unmarked topic as solved. As soon as we will have the noise suppression option back and this will really help us - then I will return the solved mark.
UPD 2: In. 575 version the noise suppression function is back. People can hear me again. Thanks, Sony

My Sony Z3 compact just had the new update and hallelujah - all works fine and people can hear me finally!
Updated today. Now people can hear me.
Jesus
Still didn't get anything
Hi, I did the Marshmallow update last week and now people are struggling to hear me during calls?
The settings options has changed, I've tried altering one or 2 things but it's still no good.
Help!
Did the 23.5.A.0.575 and while it brought back the ability to turn off noise surpression it didn't fix the under water sound which still occured at times. All disabling this option does is increase volume and the other person can hear surrounding areas. Also, when using the loudspeaker (which in turn uses the second mic) the other person couldn't understand anything I said. Both mic tests results were clear.
So I went into Settings > Apps > Select 3 dots and chose "Show system" then CLEARED DATA for the following apps:
1) Audio Settings
2) Phone
3) Phone Call Management
This fixed my issue AND it fixed my brother's Xperia Z2 that was still on 23.5.A.0.570. I'm sure just doing the first one was more than enough.
Thought I would share this in case people are going pulling their hair trying to fix this...
I signed up just to comment here. I feel like Po the Kung Fu Panda when he finds out there are other pandas. I thought I was the only one who had a Z3C that was unusable when it came to making phone calls.
This Z3C was my wifes phone and for the last ~2 months she has only been able to make phone calls if she used speakerphone. Do you know what it is like to listen to both sides of your wife's phone conversations for 2 months? I do - it is a horrible way to live. It is so bad I bought her a Nexus 6p. Now I am trying to fix this piece of crap phone so I can sell it.
In my case - the microphone works for everything EXCEPT phone calls. Works for audio recording, works for video, works on speakerphone, works for voice commands etc etc. It will not work at all for phone calls. The other party hears silence. Not hissing or garbled noise - absolute silence.
I found this thread today and was excited to see there was a fix with the latest update. I just applied the update AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK. I tried mic noise supression on and off. Also tried that with every combination of mic sensitivity. Big fat nope.
No matter what happens I will never buy another Sony cell phone again. This is the worst bug with the worst customer support I have ever experienced with a cell phone. The bug makes the PHONE unsuable as a PHONE.
If I can get this POS fixed I will sell it. If not I'll make a video of me shooting it or blowing it up - maybe throwing it off a cliff. I'll post a link here if I do.
Still waiting for the update to arrive here (Belgium). Come on SONY! Why did you mark this thread as "solved" before everyone got the update? Simply UNACCEPTABLE.
