Mic problem returned after update 6.0.1

I had problem with mic - people couldn't hear me, because my voice was very quiet. Then I switched off mic noise suppression and everything was fine. Until update to 6.0.1. Now I have the same problem. And I can't switch off mic noise suppression, because this option is simply missed.

Any ideas how to fix this now? Or I should downgrade to previous android version?

UPD: may,19. Sony market topic as solved. But it isn't really solved at the moment. They will roll out an update in "upcoming weeks". And because we still have the same problem, I unmarked topic as solved. As soon as we will have the noise suppression option back and this will really help us - then I will return the solved mark.

UPD 2: In. 575 version the noise suppression function is back. People can hear me again. Thanks, Sony

Would you try this, please?

It's for Lolipop, but it helped:

The same setting in Marshmallow is found

Settings > Google > Search and Assistant > Voice > Ok Google detection

Feature is disabled at my Z2, but it doesn't help. I enabled the feature for disable it manually, but it doesn't help as well.

Same here. Said option was already disabled.

On my Z3 compact (D5308) with this problem mic tests demonstrate the mic to be working perfectly with and without safe mode.

I just flashed the sony concept version of marshmallow, and the problem is gone.  I come through loud and clear on calls.

What does this mean? How exactly is this done?

Sony concept android marshmallow, or some combination of those words, was a version of marshmallow that sony provided for invited users to try out a while before the official release of marshmallow for the z3 compact and, I suspect, other phones.  It was well received.

I found out about it on the xda-developers forum.  There you can find links to download it and other firmwares, including most previous official releases for this phone.  They are downloaded as filetype .ftf and are installed with software called flashtool.  A google search of "z3 compact ftf" should get you on your way.

Anyway, being able to have a normal phone conversation after replacing the current operating system with the concept version shows this is a firmware problem.

To me the fact that the earlier concept/beta version works and the final does not, confirms with a 100% certainty that the issue is a firmware bug. Perhaps there is hope that Sony will actually patch this at some point then.

By far Sony's biggest problem is not buggy software, but lousy customer service that does not include keeping the customers up-to-date on what's happening. With some of the other companies, at this point I would have already spoken to someone who is an actual technical expert, and I would have been given at least confirmation that they're investigating the issue. With Sony: nothing, even though I (and many others) have been in contact with them several times already. All they are able to say: "factory-wipe your phone, and if that does not help, send it to us. But likely it will cost you". Just horrible service.

Right, and even worse, I've seen on other forums, users that say sony's had them mail their phone off only to get it back with sony saying there's nothing wrong.  It seems that sony never reads or listens to anything tellling them that this is an issue only with talking on the phone.  They check out the microphone and send it back.

This is why everybody with this problem needs to contact support so that word can spread at sony that this is a bug they need to correct.
