I have a persistent badge over facebook icon. I entered in the application and all the messages are read. I cleaned the cache, I stopped the facebook service, I cleaned the data application and I rebooted the phone. But the badge is still there.
Could someone help me, please? It's very annoying to have this number when there is nothing to do.
Thank you in advance.
Diego.
NOTE: I'm completely updated.

In that case, uninstall facebook and install it again. There won't be any loss, except for the account data which you can insert again.
Some days ago I note that Facebook badge counter was always fixed on number two. Checked the unread messages/notifications but number two stay freezed on the icon.
So I uninstall and install again the app. Now icon badge notification isn't working at all !!
I receive normally notification over blocked screen or in the notifications area, but the unread counter didn't appear neither on Facebook icon nor on others with the exception of Outlook Mail Icon.
Tips on how to restore normal operation ???
I don't think this is a setting actually. Might be Stamina mode that is interfering with this, if you have it activated. Else, I'd recommend that you try repairing the phone software using PC Companion.
Good evening everybody,
Since a few days my Z1 with stock 5.0.2 rooted/unlocked, the Facebook icon doesnt show the badge count anymore,
My wife has an LG G3 (unrooted) and it has the same issue, we also have a Galaxy Tab 4 and a S5 and they still show the badge.
All devices use the same version of the Facebook app.
Does anyone know why and can someone tell me how to fix it?
I liked the badge because i could easily see that there was an notification.
TIA greetings Dirk

Go to settings-apps,uninstall updates. Happened to me in the past, this solved my issue.

I can't uninstall any update, only uninstall completely facebook. Is that really the solution?
