Hello boys and girlies,
Quick little dilemma here if anyone could help me out;
I work in a phone shop, and one of my colleagues from a different department isn't so techy, and has asked me to have a look at his phone for him.
Wifi doesn't work, neither does the Bluetooth.
After a quick bit of googling, I've found that this is apparently a massive problem with quite a few handsets, and most of the Sony support staff answering these threads recommend using the PC Companion to reinstall the update, and leave it at that. Now, I've done this twice, doing a complete factory reset, and a complete reinstallation of the current version, and it's still having this problem.
Unfortunately, this is where the help stops, because I can't seem to find an official answer anywhere on what to do if this doesn't work. It doesn't work for a lot of people sadly, and most people are just sending their phone back to manufacturer, which isn't really the best solution for Sony, so I imagine that there is an alternative solution out there somewhere.
Does anyone know what it is?
I've tried;
Clearing the cache and all temporary data,
Resetting the APN and the VPN settings,
Factory resetting,
Booting in Safe Mode,
Sony PC Companion repair and reinstall,
Factory resetting again,
Booting in Safe Mode again,
Clearing the cache and all temporary data again.
So, as it stands, I've told him the best thing to do would be take it to a Sony Care point, [which wasn't a great idea, since apparently there are no Sony Mobile shops in the UK], and failing that, take it to the store he got it from, and ask them to get it fixed, since it's still under warranty.
Now like I said before, I've been finding topics on this since Lollipop came to the systems, so it's a pretty established problem with the handset, apparently effecting a few batches.
So yeah. Is there any solution to this I can do, or am I wasting my time?
Already took me about 4 hours to back everything up because the PC Companion is terrible. Hits about 90% completion and grinds to a halt, which according to a few Sony staff isn't a bug... apparently. I'd just rather not continue messing about trying to fix it if it can't be fixed.

I wonder if this is a local server issue, could you contact your Local support regarding this?
