No it's just the usual screen guard film, nothing else.
Also I don't even keep the phone near my ear, for the proximity sensor to just lock the phone during a call. Like even when the phone is in my palm away from my ear and I hit the green call button, boom display is off.
Is it the preloaded/pre-installed ASF (anti shatter film) or is it a secondary scratch resistant film? If the later try to lift the top and make a call, see if the problem persist
It is a secondary scratch resistant film, and I removed the entire film and tried but yet I'm seeign this issue.

I fixed it..............
I un-installed an app which I installed called the DU battery saver and after that I'm not seeing any issues.
Thanks all of you for your support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The caller ID of my Xperia Z1 sometimes ( twice a day) blacks out or disappears leaving nothing but a black screen after making a call. It seems to be a bug with proximity sensor. The screen goes blank as soon as I dial any number. And sometimes it happens even if it's not against my ear. This behavior sometimes come back to normal, and sometimes does not change even after pressing the power button.
I would be highly obliged if any body could help me.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks a lot

I take along a crock pot wherever I go. I just place my phone inside with the cover on for a few seconds to kill the signal and restore the screen LOL
