Did you ever get this resolved?
Do you have a screen protector on the phone? Sometimes if the protector is thick enough or of a different finish it can simulate your head or hand on the proximity sensor and just turn the screen off till the phonecall is completed.
Please get back to us with this answer. If you do have the screen guard try removing it and then trying again.
I am not sure what made the problem go away.
I believe I "fixed it" by going into the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) and doing a successful test of the proximity switch.
After that I rebooted the phone and everything was fine and dandy again.
It doesn't make much sense that this should fix anything
- only thing I can think of is that the proximity sensor hangs/freezes in some kind of way in one of its two states causing the phone to make the wrong decisions.. and that this hangup is cleared or reset when running the test.
I suspect this problem may return if a given set of circumstances is fullfilled.
I don't have a screenprotector but thanks for the answer anyhow
no worries.. but you could also get to the about phone menu and try the diagnostics there to test the proximity sensor too.. if you dont have it you can download the phone diagnostics app from sony.. its quite decent.
After tesing I got the result as proximity sensor fairled but all the the other tests were successfull.
What to do to resolve this problem.
Hey Guys,
Whenever I try to make a call to someone, like I either go into my contacts or just open the recent call logs and try to make a call by pressing the green button the display goes black( but in the background, the call is being made). I hit the lock button like 3-4 times after that to get my screen display back. This is very annoying as sometimes I am not able to make notes during call as I have no control over the display and also I am not able to hang up on calls, which is costing more money. Please help.
Do you have any protective case and/or film that might be blocking the proximity sensor?
