Hi everyone,
After googling for the bette part of the past week I've finally decided to post here.
After updated to Android 7.0 I began having problems with overheating and charging. This was solved with backing up and resetting.
Now I am experiencing problems with the proximity sensor during calls when my screen turns black unless I am on bluetooth or have headphones plugged in. I have enabled ending calls with power button, but this is still extremely inconvenient. I can't send my phone off as I leave from Italy to the United States for several weeks just one week from now. Ideally I need a fully functioning phone, but this seems to be an unlikely prospect.
Please note, I do not have a phone cover/case so this isn't the problem. Also, my phone isn't cracked whatsoever.
I have come across others who have had this problem with Nexus, etc. and they have been able to upgrade to Android 7.1 which has fixed this issue. However, since I have a Sony Xperia Z5 this isn't an option for me.
Any advice would be great, especially regarding the rollout of Android 7.1 or above as I am clinging to the hope this will resolve the issue. Otherwise, I'll be obliged to consider purchasing a non-Sony phone in the future. This will be the second time I have to send my phone out if this is indeed a hardware issue, and is disappointing.
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi
I am having the same issues and am using the power button to end calls
Did you find a fix for this?
I have found no fix as of yet. I hope this issue is addressed by Sony shortly.
When you notice it goes black,
Clean the proximity sensor it will be fine
Android nougat on z5 is the worst update in the history of using Sony
My question is whether Sony wants customers throwing away the phone🤔
I had the same problem with my xperia Z5 and I went far with solutions trying to fix the problem untill I found out that when I cleaned the ear proximity sensor above the screen display next to SONY logo the problem disappeared.
